Thomas Meyer, M.S.M.E.Fatigue, Fracture and Durability

Thomas Meyer has nearly four decades of experience in Applied Mechanics with emphasis on Mechanics of Materials and Fatigue, Fracture & Durability of mechanical components.
Mr. Meyer has worked for various divisions of United Technologies Corporation performing structural analysis and fatigue, fracture & durability assessments for aerospace components. Mr. Meyer conducted analytical and experimental programs in material stress-strain modeling, fatigue crack initiation, crack propagation, creep-fatigue interaction and the interaction of low cycle fatigue and high cycle fatigue. Mr. Meyer was the leader of the United Technologies Research Center’s Structural Integrity Initiative.
He has been a participant in numerous root cause and corrective action investigations, and performed quantitative risk assessments for continued airworthiness. Mr. Meyer also served as the first chairman of the propeller industry group, the Committee for Propeller Damage Tolerance. Mr. Meyer has also conducted numerous workshops on fatigue of metals for United Technologies Learning Center.
