This presentation highlights the specific ANSYS/CivilFEM simulation capabilities in the area of nuclear power plant design. These features include specific nuclear code checking of structures (steel and/or concrete codes: ACI349, ACI359, ANSI/AISC-N690, ASME B&PV Code Section III-NF, AISC-ASD 9th Edition, etc.), analysis of post-tensioned RC containment structures (including effects of creep, relaxation and the use pre-stressed RC capabilities applied to any geometry).
The advanced structural analysis capabilities of ANSYS and the specific civil engineering modules of CivilFEM combine to create a unique and powerful tool for all types of challenging nuclear power plant engineering analyses -- linear, nonlinear, static and dynamic simulations of pre-stress and post-tensioning , concrete design, construction process and seismic analysis.
