Thomas Meyer M.S.M.E. Fatigue, Fracture and Durability

  /   f:

Thomas Meyer has nearly four decades of experience in Applied Mechanics with emphasis on Mechanics of Materials and Fatigue, Fracture & Durability of mechanical components.

Tom has worked for various divisions of United Technologies Corporation performing structural analysis and fatigue, fracture & durability assessments for aerospace components.  He conducted analytical and experimental programs in material stress-strain modeling, fatigue crack initiation, crack propagation, creep-fatigue interaction and the interaction of low cycle fatigue and high cycle fatigue. Tom was the leader of the United Technologies Research Center’s Structural Integrity Initiative. He has been a participant in numerous root cause and corrective action investigations, and performed quantitative risk assessments for continued airworthiness. Tom served as the first chairman of the propeller industry group, the Committee for Propeller Damage Tolerance, and has also conducted numerous workshops on fatigue of metals for United Technologies Learning Center.
