Advanced Meshing Methods in Workbench - ANSYS e-Learning

Generating a quality mesh is an important part of the analysis process, but it can often take time. You can significantly reduce the time it takes to create a good mesh in ANSYS.  Workbench has many more meshing capabilities than MAPDL, and can help remove many of the hurdles commonly encountered and allows you to generate a great mesh, and do so in much less time.
Some of the great features available only in Workbench include: automatic topology simplifications, defeaturing with the mesh rather than the geometry, automatic geometry decomposition for brick meshing and controls for refinement within volumes.
CAE Associates Engineering Manager Eric Stamper shows many of the great ANSYS Workbench meshing capabilities you could be missing!  These advanced features and their advantages are presented.

Specific topics of this demonstration include:

  • Mesh Based Defeaturing
  • Hexahedral Meshing
  • Refinement within volumes
